Ok I finally finished it! (subject to revision) I took this idea and format from the poem O Captain! my Captain by Walt Whitman after watching the movie the Dead Poets Society. I started it a few months ago but I think I now have it finished. Let me know what you think!
O Savior! my Savior!
O Savior! my Savior! Thy victory is won;
Mocked with thorned crown and scarlet robe; God's one begotten Son
Crucified in the midst of thieves, thou bore the sins of all,
Thy body bruised and broken be, for the salvation of us all;
To Calvary! Calvary! Calvary!
Blood and water shed
Where on the cross my Savior nailed,
Broken bruised and bled.
O Savior! my Savior! Thy sacrifice is done;
For us our sins, Thy blood has cleansed; the wonder of Thy love!
As white as snow, from thy blood's sweet flow our sins are washed away,
The earth did quake and the veil rent, our open path to the God of love;
My Savior! Thou art God!
Three days the Son wast dead,
But on that third Thou stood once more,
Thou art no longer dead!
My Savior He is Risen! Risen! Risen indeed!
With holes in His hands and in His feet, a gash into His side,
He stands once more forever more, always will He lead,
Saved! Saved! Saved! By Him my glorious Lord!
Shout O lips and sing o heart!
He is Risen! Risen! Risen!
Praise to the Lord our God and King,
We are saved by His Love!
